Opening day
Tremblant opens for the 2026-27 ski and snowboard season on Thursday, November 26, 2026. The resort invites skiers to the base of the Express Gondola at 8:00 a.m. to officially kick off the season and be among the first on the slopes. The celebration runs until 9:30 a.m.
This year, opening day also lands on American Thanksgiving, so expect plenty of visitors from the United States on opening weekend.
Keep in mind that at the beginning of the season, not all trails are open. See which trails and lifts are running in real time on Tremblant's interactive trail map.
First tracks
Like most ski resorts in eastern North America, Tremblant opens with a selection of trails built on machine-made snow, then adds terrain through December as cold nights and natural snowfall allow. Its snowmaking system, with 1,286 snow guns covering about 210 hectares (519 acres), is what makes a late-November opening possible.

Lift tickets
Tremblant prices its lift tickets by date and by length of stay, so the same day can cost very different amounts depending on when you buy. The biggest savings come from buying multi-day tickets early.
| Rule | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| Early-bird deadline | Until November 26, 2026, Tremblant offers its best rates on 2 to 7-day lift tickets for the 2026-27 season. |
| High season | Every day from December 27, 2026 to January 2, 2027, from February 13 to 19, 2027, and every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in January, February and March 2027. |
| Variable rates | Prices change with the period and the length of your stay, and daily quantities are limited. Buy as soon as your dates are set. |
| Afternoon ticket | A half-day ticket lets you start skiing at noon, handy for arrival days. |
| Tremblant Reserve | A premium daily ticket that includes First Tracks access, so you are on the slopes before the crowds. |
| Ikon Pass | Tremblant is an Ikon Pass destination. The number of days included depends on your pass type. |
| Pickup | Collect your ticket at the Multiservice Centre or a ticket printing kiosk the day before or the day of your arrival. |
For reference, last season's (2025-26) adult window prices were listed by OnTheSnow at about CA$155 on weekdays and CA$185 on weekends, in Canadian dollars. 2026-27 prices are on tremblant.ca.
Where to stay
Tremblant counts about 1,900 lodging units on the resort itself, in three sectors: the pedestrian village, the mountainside and the golf course side. True ski-in, ski-out condos are concentrated in the village and on the mountainside, and the resort runs free shuttles between sectors.
The trade-off is simple. A ski-in, ski-out condo saves you the morning drive and puts the village at your door. A chalet a few minutes away usually gives you more bedrooms, a private hot tub, a full kitchen and parking for less per guest. For families and groups, the short drive is often the better deal.
Ski-in, ski-out

A few minutes from the slopes

Versant Nord, Lac-Supérieur
Love skiing but prefer to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the pedestrian village, its restaurants and nightlife? Consider staying on the North Side (Versant Nord) of Mont-Tremblant. Enjoy a more peaceful, secluded mountain atmosphere while still being just minutes from the slopes. The chalets below are about 10 minutes from the Versant Nord ski access.
New on the mountain
Tremblant announced a CA$42.5 million investment on the Versant Soleil side of the mountain. The first piece opens this winter, and the bigger expansion follows one season later.
A dedicated area for first-time skiers and snowboarders at the base of Versant Soleil, next to the Casino Express Gondola.
Tremblant's biggest terrain expansion since Versant Soleil opened.
Construction began in October 2026 on a ski-in, ski-out Club Med resort at Versant Soleil, another sign that this side of the mountain is becoming a major hub.
Around the Laurentians
Ski Mont Blanc is a family favourite on Route 117, a short drive south of Tremblant, with 43 runs on 3 sides and evening skiing. It usually opens in late November or early December. Check skimontblanc.com for this year's date. Want to stay on that side? La Sauvagine is a log chalet with a private hot tub 5 minutes from the lifts, Beauland is a forest retreat with a hot tub and barrel sauna about 8 minutes away, and OASIS 54 is a modern chalet with lake access about 5 minutes from the slopes.
Plan like a local
We host skiers all winter long. These are the things that make the biggest difference for our guests.
Christmas, New Year's and the March school breaks fill up first, especially chalets with a private hot tub or room for big groups. See the best time to book a ski vacation.
Monday to Thursday avoids the weekend high-season lift rates and usually means shorter lines and better nightly rates.
Buy 2 to 7-day tickets before November 26 for the best rates, and pick up the afternoon ticket for your arrival day.
From December 1 to March 15, all Quebec-registered vehicles, rental cars included, need winter tires. Fines range from CA$200 to CA$300. Snow often arrives earlier.
Tremblant is about 90 minutes by car from Montreal-Trudeau airport (YUL), depending on traffic and road conditions.
Hot tub evenings and the village lights fill the rest of the trip. See our winter activities guide and Christmas in Tremblant guide.
For chalet owners
Across our Mont-Tremblant portfolio, December to February are peak months, along with July and August. The homes that earn the most are the ones that are ready before the first booking.
